Managed Health Services Earns NCQA Health Equity Accreditation

The award recognizes the health plan’s commitment to advancing health equity
INDIANAPOLIS (June 20, 2024) – Managed Health Services (MHS), a managed care organization that has been proudly serving the state of Indiana for over 25 years and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), recently earned the Health Equity Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
The NCQA Health Equity Accreditation gives healthcare organizations an actionable framework for improving health equity. This accreditation recognizes MHS for its commitment to delivering high-quality, equitable healthcare to its members, as well as its ongoing commitment to eliminating health disparities to support better health outcomes.

NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare quality. Accreditation standards are set high to continuously enhance a plan's quality of care, and the review process includes rigorous on-site and off-site evaluations by a team of physicians and health plan experts. The NCQA Health Plan Accreditation shows members and providers that a health plan is well managed and delivers high-quality care and service, and Health Equity Accreditation demonstrates a health plan's dedication to advancing health equity.
MHS is advancing its health equity mission through doula programs designed to improve maternal health outcomes. MHS has partnered with the Indiana Minority Health Coalition (IMHC) on their Community Doula Services Program, a free pregnancy assistance program created to target minority women between the ages of 15 to 35 who are either on, or eligible for, Medicaid. Additionally, members can take part in MHS’ evidence-based Doula On Demand program, which offers the option of virtual visits or no-cost transportation, and the new MHS Doula and Me program for support before, during, and after pregnancy and childbirth.
