Finding a Doctor: How and Why

It’s important to find a doctor you trust and see them regularly so you can stay healthy and get help quickly when you need it. <health plan> has a large network of trusted doctors and an online tool you can use to find one near you.

You should already have a Primary Care Provider (PCP) assigned to you. You can use our online tool if you are unsure who your doctor is.

Things to consider when looking for a doctor:

After you choose a doctor:

  • Schedule an appointment for an annual physical exam. This will help you get to know your doctor and establish a starting point for your care.
  • Make a list of questions you have about your health, their office, etc. Bring your list plus your ID and health insurance information to your first visit.
  • If you’re happy with your doctor, make appointments as you need them for illnesses or injuries, and make sure to go for your annual physical exam and any other screenings your doctor recommends.
  • We want you to be happy with your docotr. If you're not pleased wtih your doctor, please know you can change your doctor at any time if you need to. Click here to find a new doctor.
